Free Crochet Pattern: Mushroom Pop-It Fidget Toy

If you’re looking for a fun, quick crochet project that’s both cute and functional, this mushroom pop-it fidget toy is the perfect make. Today I’m sharing the free crochet pattern for one of my most popular items—especially at craft fairs!

This mushroom pop-it combines amigurumi with a sensory fidget element, making it great for kids, teens, and adults. It works up fast, uses minimal yarn, and is easy to customize.

Why I Love This Crochet Mushroom Pop-It

This pattern was designed to be:

  • Quick and satisfying

  • Beginner-friendly

  • Scrap-yarn friendly

  • Fun to pop and squish

I even made a couple of these during slower moments at a craft fair, and people instantly noticed them. They’re small, adorable, and hard to put down once you start popping.

Customizing Your Mushroom Pop-It

One of the best things about this pattern is how easy it is to customize.

You can:

  • Change colors for fun or themed mushrooms

  • Add or remove embroidered spots

  • Use crocheted eyes instead of safety eyes for younger children

  • Make mini or larger versions simply by changing your yarn weight and hook size

Each change gives your mushroom a totally different look and personality.
