My Red Yeti Cup Crochet: A Custom Gift for a Colleague

I just had to share this recent crochet project because it was a lot of fun and definitely a little bit outside my usual comfort zone. I was asked by a colleague to create a custom crocheted Yeti cup as part of a gift exchange she was doing at her other job. The person she was gifting to absolutely loves Yeti cups, so she thought it would be the perfect touch. And let me tell you, I was so excited to take on the challenge!

At first, I wasn’t sure how I would approach it. Crocheting a Yeti cup is a bit tricky because of its unique shape, but I took it as an opportunity to push myself and try something a little different. The goal was to make it as realistic as possible, so I decided on a deep, rich red for the cup’s base, knowing it would look really eye-catching.

The process was both challenging and incredibly rewarding. From getting the proportions right to making sure the stitches were neat and uniform, I learned a lot along the way. But once it all started coming together, I couldn’t help but feel proud of how it was turning out. Crocheting something that looked like a cup but had a cozy, handmade touch was just so satisfying.

When I showed my colleague the finished piece, she literally squealed with excitement! It was so gratifying to see her reaction—she absolutely loved it. It made all the hours I spent perfecting the details totally worth it. She couldn’t wait to gift it, and that’s always the best feeling as a crafter.

I’m so glad I had the chance to work on something like this—it was a fun challenge, and it made for a very special and personalized gift. I’m always up for custom orders, so if you have a fun idea, feel free to reach out!
